Main approaches to the creation of a geographic information system of renewable energy sources in Ukraine

Approaches to the creation of geographic information technology (GIS technology) and tools for a geographic information system for identifying and analyzing renewable energy sources (RES) sites in Ukraine are proposed. The main components of GIS technology are formulated. They are based on methods, models and technologies of complex analysis of statistical and aerospace data in order to create tools of a specialized geographic information system with regard to the WEB-oriented approach. The presented components of GIS technology are intended for development of new software and analytical tools based on geographic information systems and technologies, as well as other spatial modeling tools in the tasks of assessing the prospects of the territories of Ukraine in terms of the feasibility of locating renewable energy facilities
