Model for reproducing the specular component of color in computer graphics tools

Sergii Pavlov, Serhii Romaniuk, Alexander Romaniuk, Oleksandr Melnyk

The paper presents a new model for playing specular color component based on bidirectional distributive functions. This uses kosynus- power function, which are based on normalized vector to the light source, observer and normal to the surface.
The model in the formation of glare on the surface graphics delivers high fidelity as the epicenter of the flare and its blooming.
The function has a much smaller degree compared with models Phong and Blinn.
Developed function does not include labor-intensive operations division and has a simple hardware implementation. The results can be used in high-performance systems forming realistic graphics
